Monique Jackson, a 2019 MBA graduate from Waynesburg University, was recently appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Pittsburgh’s nonprofit organization Familylinks.
“I was honored to be offered this opportunity,” Jackson said. “I had attended Waynesburg and obtained my MBA with the goal of professional growth. I believe this position was meant for me.”

Jackson’s role as COO will allow her to work closely with Familylinks’ team to ensure the organization continues to provide quality services that meet the needs of individuals in western Pennsylvania.
“As COO, I provide strategic leadership, development, innovation and oversight to the programs offered at Familylinks,” Jackson said. “My goal now is to ensure Familylinks delivers the services our individuals, families and communities need.”
Familylinks appointed Jackson because of her extensive management experience spanning over 17 years.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from Waynesburg University.
“I knew I needed a business degree in order to grow professionally. I chose Waynesburg because their program was accredited, affordable and convenient,” Jackson said.
After obtaining her Master of Arts degree, Jackson worked as the Director of the Family-Based Department at The Community Guidance Center in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She then moved on to hold multiple positions with UPMC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Prior to her role at Familylinks, Jackson most recently served as the Director of Practice Management at UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics.
Through these leadership roles, Jackson was able to develop a passion for leadership, behavioral health integrations and business processes. As the COO of Familylinks, Jackson is able to combine these passions and make an impact in the lives of children, families and seniors in western Pennsylvania.
“I have always wanted to help others and in this position, I am able to do that,” Jackson said.
