The initiative, organized by the football team and supported by players and the public throughout the week of Dec. 1, also included a collection opportunity during the home basketball games on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Marisa Fieldhouse.
According to Assistant Football Coach Phil Hamilton, continuing the existing partnership with the Corner Cupboard Food Bank is an important way for the team to strengthen its connection with the local community.
“We have worked with Corner Cupboard in the past, and it’s a great relationship to continue and expand,” said Hamilton. “It is important for our football team to represent and have pride in where they go to school. This food bank helps a lot of people in need in Greene County.”
Players who participated in the drive shared that they were grateful for the chance to make a meaningful impact. Hamilton emphasized the program’s ongoing commitment to service beyond the field.
“We want our football team to be a beacon for the community and to give back as much as possible to those who are less fortunate or going through adverse times,” said Hamilton.
The football program extends its appreciation to all who contributed and supported the effort to help local families during the Christmas season.
