Waynesburg U. to host admitted student day

Olivia Sanvicente Jan 25, 2024

Waynesburg University will host Jacket Day, an event for admitted students on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Throughout Jacket Day, informational sessions for parents and students will take place across the campus. Students are welcome to register from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in Roberts Chapel.

“Parents can expect to find answers to any questions that they currently have,” admissions counselor Lily Portman said. “There will be parent panels led by parents of current WU students, financial aid panels and outcome panels.”

Visiting students have the chance to learn all about the campus as they finalize their college decisions.

“Students will have the opportunity to meet other prospective students and speak with the coaches and professors they will learn from for the next four years,” admissions counselor Ali Cammisa explained. “They will get to learn everything WU and get to check out their future home.”

Portman and Cammisa are excited to meet the students they have been communicating with during the admissions process.

"I am looking forward to meeting my students in person. So many of my students live down South, so I have only been able to talk to them on the phone,” Portman said. “Waynesburg was such a good fit for me as a student, and I'm excited for families to learn why WU is a great fit for them. There are so many awesome opportunities here, and it's a great community.”

"I am excited to meet my students that I have been communicating with throughout the past semester. I felt so at home here as a freshman, and I hope that they feel the same!" Cammisa said.

Consistently ranked a best value school, Waynesburg University’s Strategy for the 21st Century affirms its commitment to developing an entrepreneurial mindset and ethical leadership skills for all students. Rooted in its mission of faith, learning and service, the private, Christian university is located on a traditional campus in the hills of southwestern Pennsylvania, with an additional site for graduate and professional programs in Southpointe.
