Waynesburg U. students participate in Accounting and Finance Consortium

Aubrey Lesnett Sep 14, 2026

On Thursday, Sept. 17, students from Waynesburg University’s Department of Business Administration participated in the Accounting and Finance Consortium Interview Day. The event was held to connect University students with potential employers and form professional relationships. Students received invaluable experience by interviewing with a wide variety of potential future employers all in the same day.

We have had students accept internships and others who have found full-time employment.

Professor Bill Stough

Eleven students were selected for interviews during this year’s interview day, including Nathan Bennett, Evan Como, Trent Giraffa, Tyler Gordon, Olivia Kale, Sydney Kratsas, Makai’o Nihipali-Sanchez, Justin Pasko, Colby Pauley, Emma Shashura and Madalyn Sherbondy.

In total, the students participated in 23 interviews, with 67% of participating employers deciding to interview Waynesburg students. These statistics are the highest the University has seen for the event.

“Each year this event allows our Accounting and Finance students the opportunity to meet with a number of potential employers in one day,” said Bill Stough, associate professor of Business Administration and director of the Master of Business Administration program. “They get the opportunity to see the different types of firms and different types of roles the employers are looking for."

“There are so many moving parts to this event and there is a lot of hurry up and wait, but the wait is well worth it in the end for the students who are selected,” said Katlin Denny, Academic and Career Support Specialist for the Pathways Center.
