Waynesburg University Players to perform “The Diary of Anne Frank”

The show will run Nov. 2 through 5

Micah Leith Oct 26, 2022

The Waynesburg University Players will present their annual fall play Wednesday, Nov. 2, through Saturday, Nov. 5.

The performances will take place in the Goodwin Performing Arts Center and begin each evening at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for the general public and $3 for University students and employees. To purchase tickets in advance, visit waynesburg.ticketleap.com/anne.

This year’s play is “The Diary of Anne Frank.” It is based on Frank’s diary entries detailing her life in hiding from Nazi occupation during the Holocaust.

“‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ is the 1956 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for drama,” said Eddie Powers, director and professor of theatre. “I wanted to bring a heartfelt story of courage and hope to our audiences. I felt that since we have just come from [the] pandemic, some of our audience [members] could identify with Anne Frank and her family.”
