Waynesburg University has selected Celeste Matsaudza as a 2025 recipient of the Founders Scholarship. She is an international student from Zimbabwe who is currently residing in South Africa.

“I am incredibly honored to be a recipient of the Founders Scholarship,” Matsaudza said. “Receiving this scholarship is not just a blessing, but also a reminder that hard work, faith and perseverance open doors to incredible opportunities.”
Matsaudza has always aimed for excellence in her academic and personal life. During her years at St. Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls, Boksburg, she has ranked in the top 15 for seven consecutive years, earned eight academic scrolls and received full academic colors.
Leadership and sports have left a major impact on Matsaudza’s life. She represents her province on the tennis, netball and chess teams. In her school, she has served as head of sports and a student representative council member. These roles have allowed her to cultivate a positive environment and meaningful change in her school and community.
Outside of academics and sports, Matsaudza volunteers in several outreach programs, including being a teaching assistant at a local preschool.
“I look forward to making an impact, growing in my faith and forming meaningful connections,” she shared.
In the fall, Matsaudza intends to pursue a pre-med track and study biomedical science at Waynesburg University.
“I am beyond grateful for this chance to pursue my dream in medicine,” Matsaudza said. “I am excited for the journey ahead, and can’t wait to contribute to the Waynesburg community while continuing to learn and serve in ways that matter.”
