Senior Reflection: Riley Ruffley

Riley Ruffley Jun 23, 2026

Waynesburg University has given me so much more than an education. It has provided me with meaningful relationships, countless opportunities, and a second family away from home. The Education Department is truly one of the best, and I am so thankful for the professors who have supported, encouraged, and prepared me to enter the teaching profession with confidence.

Beyond the classroom, the Waynesburg community as a whole has made such a lasting impact on me. From the security officers, to the housekeeping staff, to the wonderful ladies in the caf, I have always felt welcomed, supported, and at home on this campus.

During my time at Waynesburg, I had the opportunity to serve as a captain and setter on the women’s volleyball team, a Bonner Scholar, and a member and leader in organizations such as Council for Exceptional Children and Kappa Delta Pi. Through these experiences, I grew in my time management, communication, leadership, and faith. My faith has always been an important part of who I am, and Waynesburg has continually reminded me of the incredible ways God is working in my life.

After college I will be an Autistic Support Teacher at Hollidaysburg Area School District, and I am hoping to continue my master's program while teaching.

To younger and future students, take in every moment and cherish the memories you make here. The friendships you build on this campus will last long after graduation. Time truly does move quickly, and before you know it, you will be walking across that stage. Have fun, work hard, and trust that God does everything with a purpose.
