Stover Alumni Spotlight: Holly Ludvigsen ('21, MA '22)

Holly Ludvigsen Sep 23, 2025

I am currently employed as a prosecutor in the Washington, D.C. area. I am currently assigned to the Domestic Violence section, so I prosecute different kinds of criminal offenses between family members and romantic partners.

The Stover Program gives college students an up-close look at our incredibly complex legal system, and it helped us develop the analytical tools we need to help make that system a more just place.

I graduated with my bachelor of arts degree in Criminal Justice Administration in 2021 and received my master's degree in Criminal Investigation in 2022, both from Waynesburg University. I began my graduate education while I was still an undergraduate at Waynesburg, and I finished it during my first year at Georgetown University Law Center. I graduated from Georgetown with my Juris Doctor in 2024.

My first job after graduating from law school was working as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Washington, D.C. Superior Court. I was responsible for legal research and writing as well as administrative duties for juvenile delinquency cases and adoption cases. I worked as a clerk for about nine months before leaving for my current job as a prosecutor.

The Stover Program was instrumental in helping me achieve everything I have since I left Waynesburg. The Stover Program gives college students an up-close look at our incredibly complex legal system, and it helped us develop the analytical tools we need to help make that system a more just place. From analyzing the Federalist papers, to writing plays about different Supreme Court cases, to meeting with legislators to discuss the lawmaking process, the Stover Program allowed me to have experiences I never would have gotten anywhere else, and to meet people who were doing the jobs I wanted to do myself someday. When I walked into my Constitutional Law class in law school, it was incredibly comforting to know I had read and discussed many of the cases we would cover while in the Stover Program. As I entered the legal system after my law school graduation, it was comforting to know I had a strong understanding of our legal system and how it came to exist in our country to guide me.
