A group of Waynesburg University students attended the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (CCSC) Eastern Regional Conference 2025. The event was held Oct. 24-25 in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
The consortium is a non-profit organization focused on promoting quality computer-oriented curricula as well as effective use of computing in smaller institutions of higher learning which are typically non-research in orientation. It supports activities which assist faculty in making appropriate judgments concerning computing resources and educational applications of computer technology.
Charles Chen, instructor of Computer Science at Waynesburg, led students in the programming contest, where the students gained valuable experience, enhanced their technical skills and grew both academically and personally, with the event also helping to raise the visibility of Waynesburg University.
Chen's research poster was also presented during the conference, further contributing to Waynesburg University’s academic presence at the event.
“It was truly a pleasure to participate in such a meaningful national event alongside our students,” said Chen. “The experience provided us with valuable insights that will greatly benefit next year’s competition.”
