Stefanie Wielkopolan, Undergraduate Writing Center Administrator at Waynesburg University, recently published a chapbook, “Home is a Sweater,” through Finishing Line Press.
The poems in “Home is a Sweater” speak to a universal quest for belonging and an exploration of identity.
“Wielkopolan’s words slide into the reader’s bloodstream with ease, pulsing with ties to place, people, and human topography,” said Jill Moyer Sunday, chairperson for the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Waynesburg University.
Wielkopolan’s first collection of poetry, “Border Theory,” was published by Black Coffee Press in 2011. Her poems have also appeared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Low Ghost Press, Nerve Cowboy and The Heartland Review, among others.
Wielkopolan holds an M.F.A. in poetry from Chatham University and has studied Poetry as a Tool for Wellness through the Institute for Poetic Medicine. She is a participant in the professional learning community at the Fred Rogers Institute and teaches creative writing to middle school students at the Creative and Performing Arts school (CAPA) in Pittsburgh.
Finishing Line Press is a poetry publisher based in Georgetown, Kentucky. The book is available by direct retail from Finishing Line Press, P. O. Box 1626, Georgetown, KY 40324.
