Center for Corporate Social Responsibility
working together to GROW our community
The Concept
Today's corporate social responsibility encompasses more than just sustainability and philanthropy for businesses, it is about creating value for all and impacting communities in meaningful ways. Exceptional social performance is no longer considered a bonus for companies to value, it has become vital to their success.
The Center for Corporate Social Responsibility at Waynesburg University seeks to build a network of practitioners in the region dedicated to sharing best practices in corporate social responsibility work. As a membership organization, valuable resources will be shared with members to build stronger and more valuable corporate social responsibility programs.
The Center is located at the Waynesburg University Southpointe Center.

Combating COVID-19 through CSR
Since the onset of the pandemic, the Center and its members have collectively and individually found ways to support our local communities with the challenges that they have faced. Learn more below about the Center's 2020 nonprofit survey or how each member company has responded to assist groups in their own operating areas.

Corporate Volunteer Project Event
About
The Center hosted a large-scale, multiple-site volunteer project event April 11, 2019, in celebration of National Volunteer Week. Projects were held throughout Greene and Washington counties in southwestern Pennsylvania. The event was strategically crafted to meet some of the initial needs of the partner agencies and their communities as identified by data collected through a micro-course on food insecurity, recently sponsored by Carnegie Mellon University and Waynesburg University.
Impact
Nearly 70 volunteers from 12 member companies participated in 11 projects at four sites. Learn about our impact below.
