Initially, attending Waynesburg University wasn't on my radar. As a local resident, I envisioned a larger college experience in a bigger city. However, like many, I discovered that Waynesburg was where I was called to be.
My first exposure to Waynesburg University was through the dual enrollment program. This opportunity allowed me to experience classes, connect with professors, and absorb the campus atmosphere firsthand. Without a doubt, this early involvement was the deciding factor in my choice to attend Waynesburg, a decision for which I remain incredibly grateful.

Waynesburg offered me far more than just a degree. While my initial college plan was simply to study and graduate, the strong sense of community at Waynesburg inevitably drew me in. I found myself participating in various campus events, some incentivized by classes, others simply for the experience. Similarly, the business department fostered a close-knit environment. As a finance major, I developed meaningful connections with my professors, both professionally and personally. These strong relationships, a key reason I chose Waynesburg, proved invaluable. My finance professor, Stough, played a critical role in helping me secure my current position as Assistant Controller for Aramark at Acrisure Stadium. The mentorship within the business department was pivotal in my professional development, shaping the person I am today.
My time at Waynesburg also fostered significant personal growth. At this Christian university, my faith deepened. Waynesburg's mission of service resonated with me, exemplified by a project where I collaborated closely with Corner Cupboard in Greene County, supporting the community with essential resources. Furthermore, the smaller class sizes facilitated connections with fellow students in my department. In fact, I met my wife between classes, as she was also in the business department. My journey at Waynesburg nurtured my professional skills, deepened my faith, provided opportunities for community service, and even led to starting a family – developments I never anticipated in such a short period.
Having recently graduated, I offer this advice to new students: embrace Waynesburg's strong community. Meet new people, cultivate connections, and engage in campus events. You never know who you might encounter and where those relationships might lead. Build these connections, as they can be invaluable, especially in your career. Participate in campus life to become part of the community and find your sense of belonging. Lastly, trust in God and he will lead you.
Now in my post-graduation chapter, I've entered the workforce as the Assistant Controller for Aramark at Acrisure Stadium. I thank God for this opportunity and look forward with optimism. I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone at Waynesburg who supported me. I know I wouldn't be the person I am today without my experience at this exceptional university.
