Art
Nurture your creative vision with a blend of art studio practice and historical and contemporary theory.
Explore the process of artmaking—from idea to exhibition—and gain practical experience using the tools and techniques of today’s visual artist.
Studio arts taught in this program include drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and design. These avenues of visual expression, as well as elective courses in graphic design, computer imaging, and technical illustration, will help to prepare you for a studio career or for specialized study in graduate school.
In the program’s studio and art history courses, you’ll also develop an appreciation for artistic expression in a variety of cultures and gain an important perspective concerning the role of the arts and artists in modern society. You can graduate with a robust portfolio of work and exhibition experience, having displayed your art in the campus’ Benedum Fine Arts Gallery.
