Featuring a combination of coursework and practical experiences, our program offers you the flexible and comprehensive path of enrolling as a history major while obtaining a Pennsylvania Department of Education social studies teaching certification.
With the personalized advice and guidance of two advisors from both the history and education departments, you’ll observe high school classes, complete a practicum, and participate in a student teaching assignment.
Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. By completing the education program requirements, including student teaching, and passing required certification exams, you will be eligible to apply for your Pennsylvania 7-12 social studies teaching certificate.
