Courses Calculated in the Grade Point Average of the Major

The following regulations govern courses counted in the major:

  1. All majors are defined with two categories of courses.
    1. Major course requirements (courses in the disciplines required for the major — grades earned in these courses are calculated in the overall grade point average for the major).
    2. Correlative course requirements (courses outside the discipline that are required for the major — grades earned in these courses are also calculated in the overall grade point average for the major).
  2. Major courses and correlative requirements are specified by the department.
  3. Courses that do not count toward a major are identified by the department.
